Frowyke (Class 3)
A great start to the Summer term!
The children worked in teams to try to make a tower made of spagetti which would be strong enough to hold a marshmallow.
What a wonderful trip to Celtic Harmony!!
We watched fire being made, hunted for a mammoth, gathered foods, built our own very impressive dens and listened to storytelling. A busy day with lots of learning.
On Tuesday we did a Knex challenge where the children had to build a bridge to transport a van across to the island. The children did so well, Abigail and Jack winning the competition over all.
On Friday in Year 4 we were playing Maths games to practise those vital problem solving skills that we all need.
If you would like to have a go at the games they can be found here.
We did a science experiment to understand the differing viscosities of a variety of liquids. We used HP sauce, ketchup, sweet chilli sauce, golden syrup and chocolate sauce. The children predicted which liquid would reach the end of the tray first when it was tipped up and thought about why this might be the case. There were surprising results.
