Wellbeing
As a school community, we strongly believe in the value of children learning about how to look after themselves and make mental health and wellbeing a priority. If you ever have a concern about your child's mental health or wellbeing, please reach out to us.
Support for wellbeing and positive mental health education is woven throughout school life in a number of ways. We are aware that times are very strange right now and that this can be unsettling for our children. Through our PSHE provision, special events (such as mental health awareness week) and assemblies, we are always striving to ensure our children have a positive mindset and understand ways they can keep their minds and bodies healthy.
What is Mental Health?
It can be hard for our young people to really understand what is meant by Mental Health and Wellbeing so here are some nice clips to help them understand:
Below are things you can practice with your child at home;
Gratitude
Each day, find three things you are grateful for.
Mindfulness
Take time out each day to be present in the now.
Exercise
Go for a walk, without phones, and take in the nature around you.
Screen Free Time
Have daily time where the whole family are screen free together.
