St Giles C of E Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Safeguarding is defined as protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of health and/or development, ensuring that children grow up in the provision of safe and effective care and taking action to enable all children to have the best life chances.
All staff are trained and the school has a suite of documents and policies in place which relate to safeguarding to ensure the safeguarding of children is upheld. We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
